What will my daughter need?
Players will be provided a jersey top.  They will need to provide their own black spandex, knee pads, socks, and tennis shoes.

How often do they practice?
Practice times will be arranged by Coach Morken and Mrs. Anderson, AD. Usually 1-2 times a week each team will have a practice.

How many tournaments will there be?
Hopefully each team will have 4-6 tournaments each season. Tournaments take place on Saturdays or Sundays.

How long is the season?
The season typically runs from the end of February/beginning of March until the end of April or beginning of May, depending on the tournament schedule.

What will I, as a parent, have to do?
Transportation to all practices and tournaments must be handled by the parents. If you enjoy volleyball we would love to have you help at practices and tournaments. Please tell Coach if you are interested. When we host our own tournaments you will be required to work and donate food/time/etc.

Is there equal playing time?
The SGJO program follows the playing time guidelines that they Spring Grove Fall Volleyball program has in place. Remember volleyball has many substitution rules and game tendencies that can make playing time very hard to be "equal." We try our best.
- 10s/11s/12s: Playing time will be a fair as possible
- 14s/16s: Players will get an opportunity to play, time may not be equal depending on positions and skills
- 17s: Playing time is not a guarantee

Where does the money go?
Your payment goes to fees, tournament entry fees, and coaches fees to become part of the JVA.  Occasionally the Club program will donate back to the school’s volleyball program since we are using their facility and equipment. All directors and coaches are volunteer.

What if there is questionable weather?
If we feel the weather is too wintery...practice can be cancelled.  If there is no school or school gets out early there will not be practice that day. Remind 101 will be used for posting that information.

What if I have a conflict with the date?
Schedules will be available as soon as the tournament schedule is set, usually in November/December. School sports are your first priority...if you find any conflicts please let Coach know as soon as possible. We will work with the school sponsored events to not interfere with their scheduled events.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
All questions can be directed to Kelsey Morken by email sgjovb@gmail.com or by phone.
